I'm happy to announce that we reached the $750 trigger point for the first drawing last week -- and we are $27 toward the second drawing trigger point. Normally, I would have had the drawing for the first two giveaway items at my Sunday game yesterday. However, since I came down with a severe case of strep throat last week, the game was canceled as none of my players wanted to come get exposed to strep and even if they had wanted to, I couldn't talk. The drawing will be held next Sunday (which means you can donate now and still get a chance at the first drawing items.

Supposedly adult cases of strep throat are usually milder than child/teen cases. No one ever convinced my body of this. When I get strep, I can't swallow, I run a fever of 103+F, and am generally a miserable creature who might welcome a visit from the grim reaper. Strep throat is one of the major reason I stopped going to conventions. Going to a convention was almost always followed by a case of strep. What makes all of this worse is the cure (antibiotics) is almost (but not quite) as annoying as the disease -- 48 to 72 hours of diarrhea as the antibiotics do a number on the good bacteria in my stomach as well as the nasty strep bacteria. This is the first case of strep I've had since I got married in 2004 and my wife now believes the stories I've told her of mt post-con cases of strep. Where did I pick it up since I haven't been to any conventions? Probably at the hospital week before last when I took my wife over for an ultrasound on her legs. My body apparently attracts strep bacteria like it does mosquitoes. Worse, my wife had an appointment near downtown Dallas for a pain procedure last Friday -- and I had to drive, she spent a lot of time with her eyes closed hoping I was alert enough not to have an accident. Fortunately, this was about 6 hours before the antibiotics made leaving the immediate vicinity of a bathroom a bad idea.

I am finally beginning to feel somewhat human again. The pain in my throat is much duller and I no longer need to remain close to a toilet. However, I'm still not all here mentally. Reaching $750 means another Tablet Digest release. The third one should be the Microlite74 Extended Tablet Digest Edition. That one has been done for weeks. However, I somehow got it into my head that I was releasing the Microlite81 Tablet Digest Edition -- and it still had problems. So I spent what little free time and energy I had today working on it. Of course, all I really managed to do was create more problems. When I finally decided to quit and revert to what I started with, I realized that it was the Microlite74 Extended Tablet Digest Edition that was actually due for release -- and it was ready to print to PDF. Can you hear the sound of my head banging against my desk? So I printed it to PDF and it is up in the Microlite20.org download library. Unfortunately, I no longer have the energy to write up a release announcement. That will be tomorrow, but if you read though this stream of (un)consciousness posat, you don't have to wait until tomorrow, you can find it here.

To sum up:

1) The first drawing in the Lazy Days of Summer RetroRoleplaying Cancer Fund Drive will be held next Sunday (fate permitting). Thanks to all who have donated/will donate.
2) The Microlite74 Extended Tablet Digest Edition is ready for release.
3) Because I am still sick enough that I'm rambling a lot and making more silly mistakes than usual, said Microlite74 Extended Tablet Digest Edition will have a release announcement until tomorrow.
